We had such a lovely two nights stay here. When we arrived we received such a warm and friendly welcome and offered tea and cake which we enjoyed relaxing by the log fire and reading the Sunday newspapers. Our room was just lovely, loved the window seat, the bed was so comfy and the extra little touches make such a difference. Breakfast was gorgeous, loved the homemade fruit compote and granola plus the full english was so tasty and lovely views from the dining room. Katy, Lorraine and Colin are very friendly to chat to. Can't wait to go back again and have already recommended to my friends. Tips for other travellers Lorraine recommended the Church Inn in Ludlow which was great and The Blue Boar in Ludlow was good too, also they offer a smaller plate choice on the main menu. Ludlow is a lovely town to wander around. We visited Ledbury and loved the many independent shops there. Katy and Lorraine are brilliant at recommending places to visit.
Very relaxing. Lovely location x
11th March 2018, guest from Penyffordd: "Wonderful warm welcome with homemade chocolate cake and choc chip cookies. Beautiful comfy bedroom with various teas and caffetierre coffee and fresh milk (a big bonus). Great “rainforest” shower in the underfloor heated bathroom. The breakfasts were amazing. Delicious local produce and eggs straight from the family’s chickens. Very high quality cooking. I recommend the Graig very highly. " Tip: "We mostly spent our days in Ludlow which we love. We had meals at the Rose and Crown - our hosts gave us directions - lovely pub meals. Very generous portions. We also went to a Thai restaurant in Ludlow. Very artistically served tasty food. Again extremely generous portions. Our last lunch was at the Aragon cafe/restaurant which has a very extensive menu. We had fish, chips and peas and the cod was especially delicious. The castle is very interesting and inexpensive to look around. There is a lovely coffee shop too. The market is interesting with different stalls each day.
A lovely, relaxing stay. Hosts were very friendly and the breakfasts and evening meal were excellent. The garden with ponds was very peaceful to sit in, looking out onto the Shropshire countryside. Just a nice distance from Ludlow. Would definitely go again. Tips for other travellers Charlton Arms in Ludlow was excellent. The Old Bakehouse in Ludlow was good for lunches.
We were given a very warm welcome by Lorraine and Katy, and were made to feel ‘at home’ straight away. The cup of tea with a slice of delicious home made chocolate cake and home made choc biscuits (gluten free) were so welcomed after our journey, and gave us an opportunity to chat and learn about the local area. Our room (1) was outstanding. Very comfortable bed, lovely view of the garden, en suite shower room/toilet with radiator and heated floor (luxury!) Tea and coffee making in the room, with fresh milk available from the fridge in the breakfast room. Flat screen television and two arm chairs. Now breakfast: what a treat - choices of cereals and home made compote (warm and delicious) and good choices of cooked breakfast including fresh eggs from the hens in the garden. Our stay was fabulous and we highly recommend The Graig and would like to visit again. Tips for other travellers There are many places of interest in Ludlow and this information is available from The Graig. We went to the Unicorn pub (less than 10 minutes drive) which had a very good menu for evening meals and the landlord was very pleasant and helpful. The pub is an interesting old building and the atmosphere inside is vibrant.
